I have enjoyed a 30 year career in nursing with 15 years of experience here at Freedom Counseling Center bringing my psychiatric nursing expertise to counseling and stress management. Most recently, I graduated from OHSU with a Masters Degree in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This degree enables me to deliver a combination of scientific knowledge for prescribing medication and expertise in proven therapies for my clients. Nurse Practitioners are uniquely educated and qualified to deliver primary mental health care. The PMHNP utilizes the latest research while maintaining nursing tradition to know our clients and to promote physical, mental, emotional, relational and spiritual health. I honor each individual’s ability to enter into a healing process and create workable solutions for their own life. I respect the use of natural and complementary medicines and work with clients to build a therapeutic process and lifestyle that will improve health and maintain well-being. I believe that the counseling process is illuminating, beneficial and even enjoyable.
